Privacy policy

Last updated 20 September 2026

DateUtils is designed to need as little data as possible. This policy explains what is and is not collected. If anything here is unclear, write to contact@dateutils.com.

What you enter into the tools

Dates, birthdays, times, time zones, timestamps, holidays and search text are processed in your browser. They are not sent to our servers or stored by us. We do not ask for your name, email address or any account.

Web addresses that contain your inputs

Some tools update the address in your browser to include your inputs (for example ?start=2026-01-01&end=2026-12-31) so you can bookmark or share the result. The age calculator does not do this, so a date of birth is never placed in an address. If you share or open such an address, the parameters travel wherever the address goes, just like any other link, and they are ignored by the website itself. Our analytics, when enabled, records the page address without these parameters.

Information stored on your device

To remember your preferences, the site can store small items in your browser's local storage. None of them identify you and none contain personal dates.

  • Your theme choice (light or dark).
  • Your choices about analytics and advertising, so you are not asked again.
  • Your first day of the week and week-number preference in the calendar tools.
  • Your list of cities and 12/24-hour setting in the world clock.

This data stays in your browser. You can remove it at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser settings. See the cookie policy for the full list.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and CloudFront). To deliver pages, the hosting network necessarily handles technical information about each request, such as your IP address, the page requested and your browser type. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors.

Analytics

DateUtils does not currently use analytics. If it does in future, it will load only after you have agreed, this policy will be updated first, and it will record only aggregate events such as "a tool was viewed", never the values you entered and never your search text.

Advertising

DateUtils shows advertising through Google AdSense to fund the site. Google's ad code is loaded on every page, because Google's consent management platform is delivered through it. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google shows a consent message asking whether Google and its partners may store or read information on your device for advertising and personalise ads. You can accept, decline or manage options, and you can change your choice at any time. If you do not consent, Google may show limited or no ads. Google may also store a cookie on dateutils.com to remember your choice, and it and its partners may set or read cookies to serve, limit and measure ads and, where you consent, to personalise them. Google and its partners are responsible for how they use that data; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's ad settings. Ads never receive the values you enter into a tool.

Third-party services

  • Amazon Web Services: hosting and content delivery.
  • Google AdSense and Google's consent management platform: advertising and the consent message that controls it, loaded on every page.

No other third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers are loaded.

Controlling your consent

For advertising, Google's consent message lets you accept, decline or manage options. You can change your mind at any time using the "Privacy and cookie settings" link in the footer, and Google adds its own link where required. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use tools such as your browser's tracking protection. The tools work in the same way whichever choice you make.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data through the tools, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region with data protection rights, you can ask us about the data we hold and about your rights by contacting us. For data held by Google, use Google's own privacy controls.

Children

DateUtils is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles data changes, we will update this page and the date above.
